PRP Hair Treatment West Palm Beach

PRP is a non-surgical hair loss treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood to support thinning, active hair follicles through concentrated growth factors. Patients considering PRP hair restoration in West Palm Beach should know that treatment works best when viable follicles remain and cannot create new follicles in completely bald areas.

A common protocol includes three monthly sessions followed by maintenance about every six months, although treatment schedules vary by patient and provider. PRP typically costs about $400 to $1,500 or more per session in the U.S., depending on the preparation method, provider, and treatment plan.

A hair restoration evaluation can determine whether PRP alone or another non-surgical hair restoration approach would better match your pattern and stage of hair loss.

Does PRP Hair Restoration Work?

PRP may improve hair density and thickness in some patients with pattern hair loss. Research shows potential benefit, but results vary, and evidence quality remains mixed. PRP therapy works best when viable follicles remain.

Does PRP Really Regrow Hair?

PRP cannot create new follicles in fully bald areas. It may promote the growth of miniaturized hairs and support natural hair growth. Long-lasting results are not guaranteed.

I recently had a FUE hair transplant with Dr. Kopelman in New York City, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I had 2,800 grafts focused on restoring my hairline, which had become more recessed than I was comfortable with. The change has been subtle yet transformative — my hairline looks completely natural, and it frames my face in a way that feels more like me. It’s not overly dramatic, just exactly what I hoped for. What really stood out about working with Dr. Kopelman and his team was their expertise and attention to detail. From the initial consultation, it was clear they understood how to approach my specific situation to achieve the best outcome. The procedure itself went smoothly, and the aftercare instructions were thorough and easy to follow. I felt confident every step of the way because of how knowledgeable and professional they were. Finding their practice in NYC was a relief — it’s not easy to trust just anyone with something as personal as your hairline. I’m really glad I chose them because they delivered excellent results without any of the typical hype. If you’re considering a hair transplant, this is definitely the team to go to.

I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Kopelman. They are an amazing team. I had been looking for physician who could address my hair loss that had been bothering me for years. I am now doing mesotherapy treatments and I am so happy that my hair loss has reverted over the past 4 months. I really appreciated that a hair transplant was not forced upon me but is instead a last resort. I really appreciate the honesty. Thank you!

My experience with Dr. Kopelman has been nothing short of incredible. From the moment I stepped into his office, I could tell I was in the hands of a true expert. I came to him for both an eyebrow hair transplant and an FUE hair transplant, and I am very happy with the results. My eyebrows look so natural, and the precision and artistry he brought to my FUE procedure completely transformed my hairline. What really stood out was how comfortable and confident he made me feel throughout the process—he explained everything in detail and answered all my questions with such patience and care. I actually discovered him on YouTube, where his videos about hair loss and transplants are so informative, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve never felt more confident in my appearance, and it’s all thanks to Dr. Kopelman’s expertise and attention to detail. If you’re looking for the best hair surgeon in NYC, he’s the one to trust.

I paid for a consultation with one Dr. Kopelman and I actually got both Dr’s Kopelmam. They spent over an hour with me carefully studying my scalp, explaining my options, and providing the necessary prescriptions. I cannot recommend this practice or these doctors more highly.

Ross is a top hair transplant surgeon in NYC. He was so kind when I came in. I wanted to understand why my hair was thinning after using a shampoo a dermatologist had sent my way to stop my bad dandruff problem. He was so patient through my 10 million questions, I felt he really cared about what I need instead of feeding into a consumerist magic pill. He also was able to find that I could be balding and give me tips and a prescription and I felt like he saved me from tripping over a ledge I didn't see. Thank you so much!

I've been to many hair specialists, and I can confidently say that Dr. Kopelman and his team stand out for their incredible care and attention. The hair industry is unfortunately filled with people who are simply looking to make a sale, and think little about your longterm goals or happiness. I'm fortunate to have found Dr. Kopelman, who is incredibly attentive, knowledgable, puts my goals and comfort first, and is willing to think outside the box. Six stars!

I had a consultation with Dr. Joel Kopelman. It was worth my time and money. The doctor answered all my questions and provided valuable insights.

How PRP Hair Treatment Works

Platelet-rich plasma PRP treatment starts with a small blood draw. A centrifuge concentrates platelets before injecting the plasma into the scalp. Platelet growth factors may support hair growth and scalp health.

Who Is a Good PRP Candidate?

PRP may suit men and women with early pattern loss or thinning hair, including those seeking African American PRP hair restoration with specialized protocols for textured hair. Each hair loss patient needs a diagnosis because the cause can change the treatment. Advanced hair loss may require another approach.

Is 2 Sessions of PRP Enough?

Two sessions may not be enough for many patients. Published studies commonly use three or more treatments spaced several weeks apart. The final schedule depends on diagnosis and response.

When PRP May Not Help

PRP may provide limited improvement when active follicles are absent. Clinicians should also assess medical causes of shedding first. Some patients may need medication or surgical hair restoration instead.

PRP Treatment and Recovery

PRP is performed in the office with small injections into the scalp. Temporary tenderness, redness, or swelling can occur. Most patients have little downtime after treatment.

Maintenance and Recovery

Some patients receive maintenance treatments after the initial series. Follow-up helps track shedding, density, and overall hair health. Maintenance does not guarantee thicker, healthier hair.

PRP Hair Restoration Results

Results develop gradually as treated follicles move through the hair cycle. PRP may improve the appearance of thinning areas or help maintain existing density. Standardized photographs can make changes easier to assess, as shown in our PRP before-and-after gallery.

Changes may become noticeable within several months. Research has reported improvements in hair density at three and six months, but individual results vary. You may need repeat treatment to maintain improvement.

Frequently asked questions about Platelet Rich Plasma

What is PRP therapy, and how does it work for hair loss?
Is PRP therapy effective for all types of hair loss?
What can I expect during a PRP treatment session for hair loss?
How many PRP treatments are needed to see results for hair loss?
Are there any side effects with PRP?
PRP therapy involves drawing a small amount of your blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting this platelet-rich plasma into your scalp. The high concentration of growth factors in platelets is believed to stimulate hair follicles, promote hair growth, and decrease hair loss by enhancing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft.
PRP therapy has shown promise in treating androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness) and other forms of non-scarring alopecias. However, its effectiveness can vary based on factors such as the individual’s health, the area being treated, and the extent of hair loss. It may not be as effective for those with more advanced hair loss or other types of alopecia that involve scarring.
During a PRP treatment session, blood is drawn from your arm and then processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The scalp is usually numbed to minimize discomfort, and the PRP is then injected into areas of the scalp where hair loss has occurred. The procedure typically takes about an hour, and you can usually return to your normal activities shortly afterward with minimal downtime.
The number of PRP treatments needed can vary, but initially, a series of 3 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart is commonly recommended. After the initial series, maintenance treatments every 3-6 months may be suggested to sustain the results. The specific treatment plan can vary based on individual response and the severity of hair loss.
PRP therapy is generally considered safe since it uses the patient's own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or infections. However, as with any injection procedure, there is a potential for side effects such as pain at the injection site, scalp tenderness, swelling, and headache. Infections are rare but possible. It’s important to have PRP therapy performed by a qualified healthcare provider in a sterile environment to minimize risks.
